# Integration patterns

> Three ways to integrate Belgian company data: an agent over MCP, a backend over REST, or both with one key.

**A. Agent, via MCP**

**Add the server to your agent, and that is it.** One URL and a key, or the Claude connector. No client code, no schema work, no tool layer of your own. Your agent answers register questions from the source, with a date on every record, from the first minute.

*Effort: minutes. Nothing to deploy.*

**B. Backend, via REST**

**Fill your own record from an enterprise number.** Take the number at sign-up or in a nightly pass, call `GET /v1/companies/{id}`, and map the fields you need onto your own model. Two HTTP calls and a mapping. No SDK needed.

*Effort: an afternoon, most of it deciding which fields you keep.*

**C. Both, one key**

**One key behind both.** Your product enriches over REST, your assistant queries over MCP, and both draw on one organisation's credits.

*Effort: whatever A and B cost. Nothing more to build.*

## A first integration, end to end

**1. Get a key**

Sign up at [app.otbstudio.ai](https://app.otbstudio.ai/auth/sign-up), choose a plan, and create a key in the dashboard.

**2. Check the connection**

`GET /health`, then one search and one profile fetch with `curl`.

**3. Connect MCP**

Add the client configuration, or the connector in Claude, and check the tools list.

**4. Map the fields**

Map the profile fields you need onto your own model, applying [Reading the data](/reading-the-data.md): in particular the two unlabelled codes and the closing date.

**5. Go to production**

Create a separate key for production. Generate a client from `https://api.otbstudio.ai/openapi.json` if you want one.
