# Pricing and credits

> OTB Studio plans and the credit price of every datapoint, read live from the API that charges them.

A plan grants a monthly budget of credits. Every reply is charged for the datapoints it carries, and for nothing else. There is no free tier: every call, search included, needs a plan.

* **You pay for what was served.** A field the source did not have is left out of the reply and costs nothing. A financial series is charged per period, so ten years cost about ten times one, and `detail=true` costs more because it carries more.
* **Search costs no credits.** Screen companies for free and pay for the profiles you open. Search keeps working at a zero balance.
* **No overage and no surprise invoice.** A paid call your balance does not cover is refused with `402 insufficient_credits`.
* **A refusal is not charged.** No refused call costs anything: a `400`, `402`, `404`, `429` or an error on our side is free.
* **A month's credits are an allowance.** The balance resets to the plan's amount each month. What is left does not carry over.
* **API keys are unlimited** on every plan.

## The live price list

Below, each route and tool lists every field it returns and what that field costs. A reply is charged for the fields it actually carries: a row costs at most the sum of its fields, and less when the source has no value for some of them. The tables are read from [`https://api.otbstudio.ai/v1/pricing`](https://api.otbstudio.ai/v1/pricing), the same values that charge a request, so they change the day a price does. Agents and scripts can read that JSON directly. The same plans are also on [otbstudio.ai](https://otbstudio.ai/#pricing) as plain HTML.
